Maternity
At MJHC, we have dedicated departments that specializes in caring for women during pregnancy and childbirth. Our talented team of obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives and nurse practitioners are committed to guiding you through every stage of pregnancy and assisting you with issues related to your reproductive health.
We are committed to making your delivery as stress-free as possible. The healthy mother-to-be and baby receive prenatal care and delivery in our comfortable, attractive birthing rooms that are staffed by obstetric anesthesiologists 24 hours a day. You will give birth in a private labor, delivery, recovery room. After delivery, care will be provided on the Mother Baby Unit where you can rest and recover while enjoying time with your family.
Prenatal Care
Prenatal care (antenatal care), is a type of preventive healthcare. During your pregnancy, our doctors, nurses and midwives will provide you with the information and care you need to keep both you, and your baby, healthy. In those visits, you will discuss your personal prenatal health plan. Prenatal care includes everything from blood tests, physical exams, ultrasounds and discussions about lifestyle. It is important to focus on healthy choices during your pregnancy, because everything you do impacts your baby.
During check-ups, you will receive medical information over maternal physiological changes in pregnancy, biological changes, and prenatal nutrition including prenatal vitamins. Recommendations on management and healthy lifestyle changes are also made during regular check-ups.
Labor and Delivery
Our labor and delivery wards are well staffed. You will give birth in a private labor room. At delivery your baby will be placed skin to skin, this helps your baby maintain their temperature and helps with bonding. After delivery, you and your baby will not be separated unless medically necessary. You will be moved to a postnatal room where you will stay until you and baby are ready to leave the hospital. Following the birth, you and your baby can rest comfortably in your room. Routine tests, baths and exams are done in your room. Our staff members will help you and your family learn to care for your newborn and answer any of your questions.
